What is a CSA?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture—a partnership between farmers and their community. By joining a CSA, members purchase a "share" of the farm’s harvest at the start of the season and, in return, receive regular boxes of fresh, seasonal produce throughout the growing season.

It’s more than just a way to get fresh food—it’s a way to support local agriculture, connect with your farmers, and be part of a more sustainable food system.

At Blue Heron Farm, our CSA is designed to make eating local and seasonal as simple and enjoyable as possible. Here’s how it works:

  1. Become a Member


    Joining the Blue Heron Farm CSA starts with a simple commitment: purchasing your share at the beginning of the season. By paying upfront, you’re not just securing a weekly box of farm-fresh produce—you’re also investing in the farm itself.

    This early-season payment allows us to plan for the year ahead. Your contribution helps us buy seeds, soil amendments, tools, and everything else we need to grow a bountiful harvest. It also provides the stability small farms like ours depend on, ensuring we can care for the land and grow food responsibly.

    By becoming a member, you’re not just feeding your family—you’re directly supporting local, sustainable agriculture and helping Blue Heron Farm thrive.

  2. Receive Your Box


    One of the best parts of the Blue Heron Farm CSA is that you get to choose what goes into your box! Each week, we’ll share a list of what’s fresh and available on the farm, and you’ll have the chance to select the items you want most.

    Whether you’re craving juicy peaches, vibrant greens, or heirloom tomatoes, our customizable CSA ensures you get exactly what you’ll love and use. Your box will always reflect the best of what’s in season, picked at peak ripeness and packed with care.

  3. Pick-Up or Delivery


    You can pick up your share directly at Blue Heron Farm, giving you a chance to see where your food is grown and experience the beauty of the farm.

    Prefer the convenience of home delivery? We’ve got you covered. We offer home delivery options to bring your fresh, seasonal produce right to your doorstep.

    No matter how you choose to receive your box, we’re here to make it simple and convenient for you to enjoy the best of Blue Heron Farm.
