Blue Heron Farm's CSA Program!
Thank you for your curiosity about Blue Heron Farm’s Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. We're excited to share our fresh, locally grown produce with you. This guide will explain how our CSA works, so you know what to expect and how to get the most out of your membership.
How Our CSA Works
1. Seasonal Commitment
Our CSA currently offers a Summer CSA, which runs for 20 weeks, typically starting mid-May and ending mid-October (weather permitting). This program features a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, and farm-fresh items. (dropping hints about maybe a Winter CSA in the future…)
By joining the CSA, you commit to supporting the farm for the entire season. This commitment allows us to plan, plant, and harvest with your share in mind. Your support helps us grow and sustain local agriculture for years to come.
2. Weekly Share
Each week, you’ll receive a curated box of fresh, seasonal produce. One of the unique features of our CSA is the ability to customize your box!
You’ll receive an order email every Friday at 5 PM with options to select your preferred items for the week (due by Monday at noon).
If you don’t customize, you’ll receive our standard box of the week, featuring a delicious mix of seasonal favorites.
3. Pick-Up and Delivery Options
Farm Pick-Up (Free):
Pick-up is available on Fridays between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM.Home Delivery ($7):
Convenient delivery to your door. Delivered on Friday.
If you can’t pick up or accept delivery, let us know in advance. Any unclaimed boxes will be repurposed.
4. Add-Ons
On these weekly forms, you’ll also find options to add value items like eggs, honey, jams and jellies, dried fruit, or other seasonal goodies. The cost of these add-ons will be collected weekly, keeping that part of the process simple and convenient.
5. What’s in the Box?
The contents of your box will vary based on the season and weekly harvest. Our goal is to provide you with a diverse and exciting selection of farm-fresh items every week. Use the button below to preview this year’s projected crop list.

7. The Order Form
To fill out your order form - select six (6) items from the weekly list to fill your box. Optional value-added items can be included for an additional cost. Don’t forget to provide feedback or ask questions in the comments section—we love hearing from you!
8. Dealer’s Choice
Feeling adventurous? Choose “Dealer’s Choice” on the order form to let us surprise you with a special item. It could be the first tomatoes of the season, a share of any limited quantity items like elephant heart plums, or something else delightful.
9. First-Come, First-Serve
Some items are in high demand (like eggs during summer). Orders are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis, so submit your order form early to secure your top picks.
10. Payment
Payment for the flat rate of the box is collected upfront to support farm operations - and can be done on the farm’s website.
Weekly add-ons will be billed separately. Payment methods include:
Cash
Credit Card
11. Low-Waste Commitment
Help us stay sustainable. Please return your empty CSA box and any reusable containers (e.g. jars, cans, bags…) when you pick up or receive your new box. Together, we can reduce waste.
12. Supporting Local Agriculture
By paying for the season upfront, you’re not just reserving your share of fresh, local food—you’re also helping us plan and prepare for the season ahead. Early payments provide the financial support needed to purchase seeds, improve infrastructure, and focus on the sustainable growth of our farm. It’s an incredible way for you to directly invest in local agriculture and be part of the regenerative farming journey we’re building together.
