Ingredients

butter | for greasing the baking dish

plums | halved, pits removed

3/4 cup milk

1/4 cup heavy cream

1/4 teaspoon vanilla

3 tablespoons rye whiskey

3 eggs

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

powder sugar | for dusting


Instructions

Step One

Use the butter to grease a pie pan or round quiche dish. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Step Two

Arrange the plums in the baking dish—cut side up.

Step Three

In a mixing bowl whisk together the milk, heavy cream, vanilla, whiskey, and eggs.

Step Four

Add the salt and flour and briefly whisk just until the batter is smooth.

Step Five

Pour the batter around the plums and bake for 30-35 minutes until the flaugnarde is puffed and golden on the edges.

Step Six

Cool to room temperature. Dust with powdered sugar. Serve. Enjoy.
