Mediterranean Goat Cheese Spread

Bring out the good stuff.

High quality olive oil and balsamic will make a world of difference here. Bring out the good stuff.


Ingredients

goat cheese

olive oil

balsamic vinegar

fresh herbs | thyme, oregano, rosemary

kalamata olives | pitted and chopped

2 cloves garlic | minced

zest of half a lemon

pepper | freshly ground

chili flakes | to taste

pinch of salt


Instructions

Step One

Bring the goat cheese out of the fridge and allow it to warm to room temperature.

Step Two

In a small skillet or pan add the olive oil, herbs, garlic, and chili powder. Warm over medium-low heat until the oil is infused, 2 to 4 minutes. Do not allow the oil to get overly hot, you are simply warming it.

Step Three

Pull the pan off of the heat and stir in the balsamic vinegar, lemon zest, and the kalamata olives.

Step Four

Spread the goat cheese into your serving vessel. Pour the olive oil mixture over the goat cheese. Let it sit for an hour or so.

Step Five

When you are ready to serve, garnish with some more fresh herbs, a pinch of salt, and some freshly ground pepper. Taste. Adjust any seasonings. Serve. Enjoy.
