Sage and Apple Pork Chops Recipe

Sage and Apple Pork Chops

Fall must be coming…

As the light begins to change and a briskness sneaks into the morning air, I start to crave a plate like this.

Ingredients

Pork chops | if thicker cut, plan to finish them in the oven

apples | sliced

onions | sliced

garlic | crushed

sage

white wine

olive oil

salt

pepper

Instructions

Step One

Heat a pan on medium-high heat, add olive oil, and once the oil begins to shimmer, go ahead and sear the pork chops. Cook both sides until beautifully golden brown. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Step Two

Add the onions to the pan with the pork juices. Cook for about 5-10 minutes until the onions are nice and soft. Add in the garlic, apples, and sage, and cook until they have a nice sear. Add a glug of white wine, and let reduce until the apples are cooked through.

Step Three

Return the pork chops to the pan. If they are cut thinner, then go ahead and cook until done on the stovetop. If you have a thicker chop, you can finish them in the oven, and cook until done. Serve. Enjoy.
