  2. Store Like Flowers: Place herb bunches in a jar with about an inch of water, stems down, and cover them loosely with a plastic bag. Store in the refrigerator for best results.

  3. Keep Dry: Excess moisture can cause wilting and spoilage. If storing in bags or containers, include a paper towel to absorb any condensation.

  4. Don’t Wash Until Ready to Use: Washing herbs before storage can introduce moisture, leading to faster spoilage.

Storage Solutions for Specific Herbs

  • Parsley and Cilantro: Store upright in a jar of water in the refrigerator, covered with a plastic bag. Change the water every few days to keep them fresh.

  • Chives: Wrap in a damp paper towel and store in a sealed container or bag in the refrigerator. Use within 5-7 days.

  • Mint and Basil: These herbs are sensitive to cold. Store at room temperature in a jar of water, like a bouquet. Avoid refrigerating basil as it can blacken.
